About Pool Safely and CPSC
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) started the national public education campaign Pool Safely: Simple Steps to Save Lives to increase pool and spa safety and decrease child drownings, submersion injuries, and entrapments.

The campaign serves as a call to action for the public and the industry to implement tried-and-true water safety precautions and join a national dialogue about pool and spa safety by exchanging best practices and other vital information.
The Virginia Graeme Baker Pool & Spa Safety Act (P&SS Act), federal legislation requiring new rules for public pools and spas, among them a public awareness campaign, is implemented by Pool Safely.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is responsible for guarding the general public from unjustified risks of harm or fatality from the thousands of different types of consumer products that are under the agency's purview. The CPSC is dedicated to safeguarding consumers and families from items that provide a fire, electrical, chemical, or mechanical hazard in addition to pool and spa safety.
