Pool House Turns Heads At International Awards Show
“Pool House” is one of the most inspiring indoor pool designs we’ve seen lately. This design is the work of U.K. West Yorkshire-based firm Design Emporium. Recently they won “Best Residential Swimming Pool” at the 2021 International Design & Architecture Awards.
The modern and contemporary design impressed judges who said, “The scheme brought together high-quality materials, such as bronze windows, roughcast micro cement, and large format tiles to create a sympathetic scheme that complemented the status of the building.
“The design has carefully created intimacy and interest. Large walls can often feel bland, but the use of multiple materials and introduction of texture has ensured the space is well balanced. Many residential pool houses follow a formulaic approach, using standard finishes (blue mosaics in the pool tank), and have little interest. This pool not only considers the building’s original use, but also how it interacts with its surroundings.”
The International Design & Architecture Awards is still relatively unknown by many pool builders in the United States. The award is hosted by design et al, a leading UK interior design magazine that’s well-known and respected by professionals within architectural circles over in Europe.
Pool House – Luxury Indoor Pool Design
We love looking at luxury pools from all over the world. This is the type of project that impresses you on multiple levels. U.S. pool builders who want to see what types of trends are turning heads in the global community are sure to take interest in this design. This award-winning indoor pool definitely offers a glimpse into what’s hot on the international scene.
Headed by Rik Smith, Design Emporium has specialized in elaborate interior designs since 2003. The magnificent indoor pool constructed inside a converted barn is total eye candy. However, the interior was completely gutted and redesigned. The end result, a sophisticated contemporary pool house set against a spectacular private lake. Clearly, Design Emporium is not one to skimp on details. It should be noted, “Pool House” also features a hot tub, complete with a retractable cover.
In addition, this property comes equipped with a gaming and entertainment area, a home office, and its own personal gym. Consequently, this handsomely outfitted barn conversion is one of the best-designed indoor pools we’ve seen this year. Without a doubt, this is not one of your more typical pool designs. Pool House features all of the amenities one would find at a first-class resort.
In our opinion, you couldn’t want more from an indoor pool that’s detached from the main home. Since we’re so fond of this pool, we are eager to hear what you think of this design.
