Lance Irby

Lance Irby is a pool designer with Premier Pools & Spas of Sacramento whose work connects architectural thinking with the way people want to live outdoors. His approach begins with understanding the homeowner: how they will use the space, what they value and what would make the finished backyard feel distinctly their own.

Before entering the pool industry, Irby gained experience in construction, landscaping and architectural drafting. He joined Premier Pools & Spas in 2012 after encouragement from Sacramento owner Keith Harbeck, bringing those skills into a field that combined design, technical problem-solving and client relationships.

In his Pool Magazine interview, Irby described luxury as a personal experience rather than a fixed price point or checklist of features. A successful design, in his view, translates a client’s priorities into an environment they love. His featured Granite Bay project illustrates that thinking through changing elevations, panoramic views, a sunken gathering area and carefully balanced fire and water elements.
