Florida Swimming Pool Association Hires Pool Industry Veteran

(SARASOTA, Fla.) – The Florida Swimming Pool Association (FSPA) is excited to announce the hire of Nicki Pressley-Rice as Membership Development Manager effective June 26, 2023. Pressley-Rice has worked in the pool and spa industry for most of her career, starting out on the service side and quickly advancing to inside sales for Florida Water Products. Her extensive experience also includes more than four years of sales success as Territory Sales Manager with WEK and Associates managing a $7 million territory in southwest Florida. She has experience representing industry products at trade shows, dealer and distributor counter days, and during tabletop events.

Pressley-Rice has been a member of the Florida Swimming Pool Association for many years. She served 10 years on the Charlotte Harbor Chapter Board, five years as Chapter President, six years on the state Board of Directors, and volunteered on several committees and councils over the years. She was named Director of the Year for her local chapter in 2017 and 2021.
“I am confident Nicki will leverage her industry knowledge, relationships, and passion for the FSPA in her new role,” said Elizabeth McMurray, FSPA Executive Director. “Her high level of enthusiasm and drive will lead us to success.”

The Florida Swimming Pool Association is a trade association for the pool and spa industry in Florida. There are approximately 750 member businesses in 16 Chapters across the state. Members are required to abide by a code of ethics and to be properly licensed and insured. FSPA provides the industry with access to continuing education courses, information on current trends and issues, and an arbitration program and government relations representation. FSPA is governed by a Board of Directors.

Pool & Hot Tub Alliance Requests Reaffirmation of Water Conservation Efficiency Standard

(Alexandria, VA.) – The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), the trade association representing the swimming pool, hot tub, and spa industry, is requesting reaffirmation of the ANSI/APSP/ICC-13 2017 American National Standard for Water Conservation Efficiency in Residential and Public Pools, Spas, Portable Spas, and Swim Spas.

As part of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) consensus development process, PHTA is conducting a public review of the existing stand and inviting interested parties to submit comments for consideration.

Following review by PHTA technical committees, the 2017 standard has been recommended for reaffirmation while a parallel revision process is underway to evaluate and address emerging issues related to drought and water conservation practices.

In accordance with ANSI procedures, the current ANSI/APSP/ICC-13 2017 standard is available for a 45-day public review period, as announced in ANSI Standards Action. The deadline to submit comments is July 28, 2026.
