A High-Performance Heat / Chill Pump Without the Excess Noise

NEW Jandy® VersaTemp™ Heat/Chill Pump provides energy-efficient heating and cooling of your pool and spa water with significantly less noise
SAN DIEGO – February 2022 – Fluidra, a leading manufacturer of innovative, energy-efficient pool equipment, introduces the new Jandy VersaTemp Heat / Chill Pump—engineered with the flexibility to warm up or cool down pool water while significantly reducing operational noise.
With a focus on advancing equipment technologies to offer easier installation and servicing for pool professionals along with increased efficiency and simple maintenance for pool owners, VersaTemp hits all the right notes.
Featuring a smaller footprint than comparable models, what truly sets VersaTemp apart is its SoundShield™ technology. Comprised of a swept-wing blade design that decreases wind turbulence as the internal fan spins and a decibel dampening acoustic blanket surrounding the compressor to help muffle the typically loud reverberation—VersaTemp is impressively quiet, giving pool owners a more enjoyable backyard experience.
The VersaTemp Heat / Chill Pump’s ability to both heat and cool makes it an ideal solution for year-round use (for outside air temperatures not exceeding 45°F). Engineered with heat reversing technology that activates when internal sensors detect if/when ice forms on the outside coil while transferring heat into the pool or spa, VersaTemp automatically redirects heat to melt the ice quickly—allowing it to seamlessly continue heating pool water.
An eco-friendly way of heating the pool, VersaTemp draws heat from the air into the pool water. And for overly hot days when pool owners might want to cool off, it pulls heat from the pool—providing the best of both worlds without the need for a gas hookup and minus the carbon emissions at the appliance.
As more states look into passing regulations prohibiting the installation of gas-powered equipment, VersaTemp offers a viable option for pool owners who want to extend their swimming or spa season as the air begins to chill. Combining power and performance, VersaTemp delivers increased heat output for more efficient and faster heating than other heat pumps on the market.
Intuitive and convenient to use, VersaTemp comes with an easy-to-access LCD control panel enabling touch-button operation to adjust individual set points for the pool, spa, or both. Its service-friendly design takes the guesswork out of troubleshooting, displaying self-diagnostic notifications written in wording that makes sense, in the language of choice.
As an added perk, VersaTemp is fully compatible with pool automation systems, and when used in conjunction with any AquaLink® automation system, an auto-heat feature maintains the pool’s temperature automatically and efficiently, 24 hours per day. It can also be controlled on the go using the highest-rated pool control app, iAquaLink®, so regardless of where the pool owner is, the heat settings can be adjusted so it’s the right temperature when they want to enjoy their pool or spa.
Dedicated to being a better partner to pool professionals, Fluidra’s Trade Series Exclusive Policy prohibits the sale of ALL Jandy equipment online, entailing VersaTemp models are for sale only by brick-and-mortar dealers and are not available for resale on the Internet. Pool professionals are encouraged to contact their local Fluidra representative for information or visit Jandy.com.

Step Into Swim Awards Grant Funding to the Michael Phelps Foundation to Expand Water Safety Programming for Children

The Pool & Hot Tub Alliance recognizes the impact of the Michael Phelps Foundation’s IM Program with $20,000 grant to increase access to free, comprehensive water safety curriculum
Alexandria, Va. (March 9, 2023) – Step Into Swim, an initiative of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) dedicated to creating more swimmers through safe swim education, today announced it awarded $20,000 through its 2023 grant program to the Michael Phelps Foundation. In its efforts to build confidence in young swimmers and decrease the nation’s already-high drowning rate, Step Into Swim continues to advocate for increased access to water safety education and encourages lesson providers to apply for funding.
“Learning to swim empowers children to be water safety champions and helps prevent drowning,” said Rowdy Gaines, three-time Olympic Gold Medalist and Vice President of Partnerships and Development for PHTA, who leads the Step Into Swim initiative. “Step Into Swim takes swim safety seriously and we applaud the Michael Phelps Foundation among all the learn-to-swim lesson providers for doing the same. They put children first and teach them the skills they need to not only survive, but thrive in the water.”
With Step Into Swim latest grant, the Michael Phelps Foundation will offer swim safety lessons to more than 400 children in underserved communities and instill the lifesaving skill of learning to swim. In fact, learning to swim from a qualified instructor reduces the drowning rate by 88% among children ages 1 through 4,[1] the very same age group impacted most by drowning deaths.[2]
“I was first introduced to the water through a water-safety program, and I am committed to helping expand access to that same learn-to-swim program through our IM program,” said Michael Phelps, Founder of the Michael Phelps Foundation. “We are proud to partner with Rowdy Gaines and the PHTA’s Step Into Swim initiative to help teach more children to feel comfortable and confident in and around the water. Together, we can help inspire and educate the next generation about the valuable life skill of learning to swim.”
In addition to the life-saving skill of learning to swim, the Michael Phelps Foundation’s IM program provides a comprehensive curriculum that includes goal setting and healthy living (emotional and physical) lessons for children.
In 2022, Step Into Swim raised over $750,000 dollars, which provided grants to more than 60 facilities in 46 states and funded swim lessons for 23,500 children. The initiative has gifted more than 300,000 swim lessons since 2012 through YMCAs, Jewish Community Centers, Boys and Girls Clubs, and many more. Step Into Swim accepts grant applications on a rolling basis. Interested learn-to-swim providers can learn more and apply at www.stepintoswim.org/get-involved/apply/.
