Heritage Pool Supply Group Joins Pool Industry as Distributor

The pool industry has continuously expanded over time. At present, Heritage Pool Supply Group is one of the newest companies in the industry. This number one pool company intends to become a nationwide distributor of pool products. Recently, the Heritage Supply Group bought Naperville, Ill.-based Aqua-Gon. Nevertheless, the other principals of this top-notch pool company will still run its operations in its designated locations.

Heritage Pool Supply Group Joins Pool Industry as Distributor

The future looks promising for Heritage Supply Group

President of Heritage Pool Supply, Matt McDermott, says that the company has an excellent reputation. Thus, they have managed to build a strong rapport with their partners and clientele. Moreover, they are striving to become the best in the pool industry in the next few years.

On the other hand, the president and owner of Aqua-Gon, Phil Horvath, says that partnering with Heritage looks promising. He says that Heritage will provide them with all the necessary resources they need to expand their company. Not to mention, the programs offered by Heritage will give them amazing financial and professional opportunities. Phil believes that they will build a legacy out of this partnership.

The success of Heritage Supply Group over the years

Heritage is the second pool company to venture nationwide this year. In the past twenty years, the pool and spa distribution industry was only dominated by one company. Founded in 2018, Heritage Landscape and Supply have tremendously grown over the past few years. Now, Heritage is supplying its services to up to 135 locations in 25 states in America. The company owes its rapid growth to the established distributors it acquired. Heritage has approximately 15 to 20 branches that were the recently acquired distributors.

The operations of the company

Heritage company says that they seek to create an independent family more than establishing a national channel. Thus, the company prefers that all acquired distributors operate on their own like before. The previous owners continue to operate like before. Nevertheless, all administrative duties are dealt with by Heritage. Additionally, Heritage does not expect these distributors to change their brand names. They will continue operating and meeting customer needs in their local area. Keep in mind that local pool owners are already familiar with our acquired distributors. Therefore, changing their brand name might lower our sales in the respective areas.

McDermott says, “As Heritage Pool Supply Group, they will help their distributors to operate to their maximum potential. But this does not mean that they will alter their brand name. Heritage also plans to grow by giving its employees leadership roles. In particular, the company plans to make its employees shareholders of the company in the near future.

Heritage Pool Supply Group is not selective when it comes to choosing partners

It is not clear where Heritage plans to start first. Also, the company has not set any deadlines for all the set goals. McDermott says that the company will identify its service locations based on the opportunities available. He says that they cannot jump into any market blindly. There’s a lot they need to evaluate before venturing into a particular market. The company is very deliberate in meeting and working with the most professional people.

Fortunately, the company is very flexible on the companies they plan to work with. Nevertheless, there have to be principals that align with their values before they choose to work with you. But generally, Heritage is not looking for owners who plan to leave the sale immediately does not cater to their requirements.

Currently, PoolCorp holds a significant market share in the pool industry. McDermott says that there’s space for everyone in the pool industry. All companies can win and coexist really well.”

In case you didn’t know, the Heritage Pool Supply Group comes from the SRS family of distributors. SRS began with selling building products. At present, SRS has 460 locations in 44 states. Two private equity groups, Leonard Green & Partners and Boston-based Berkshire Partners, back up this company.

Conclusion

Heritage Pool Supply Group is looking to expand its distribution services across the nation. Fortunately, the company is not selective when it comes to choosing people to work with. The company also hopes to continue expanding in the next few years.

Pool maintenance usually consumes a lot of time and effort. Unfortunately, you can never skip pool maintenance if you want to maintain crystal clear pool water. On average, you need to clean your pool at least twice a week. Moreover, you need to ensure you have balanced water chemistry at all times. The pool filter is usually responsible for getting rid of dirt and debris in your pool. However, some particles may be too large to go through the filter. As a result, you need to use a vacuum or robotic pool cleaner to clean the pool. At present, there is a wide range of robot pool cleaners in the market. Each offers unique functionality.

There are two primary types of automatic pool cleaners; pressure cleaners and robotic cleaners. Both deliver excellent functionality. But pressure cleaners usually depend on the pool filter and pump to function. At times, they rely on a booster pump to operate. On the flip side, robotic cleaners depend on electricity to function and work independently. Also, some robotic cleaners use smart technology like Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to function.

Factors to consider when buying a robotic pool cleaner

Typically, robot pool cleaners incorporate a head unit responsible for running all operations of the cleaner. You can set a robotic cleaner to work at your preferred timings during the day. Most robotic pool cleaners have floor and wall cleaning options. In addition, pool professionals usually advise getting a robotic pool cleaner that cleans the waterline. Such pool cleaners reduce the need for brushing your pool surfaces. Nevertheless, these robotic pool cleaners tend to be more expensive.

All robot pool cleaners use Bluetooth or Wi-Fi systems to function. Thus, you can easily control the robotic cleaner using a smartphone app. You can start and stop the robotic cleaner at any time. When buying a pool cleaner, always buy one with a quality debris canister. The debris canister is responsible for trapping debris in the pool. After cleaning the pool, you need to empty and remove the canister according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Another factor to consider when buying a robotic pool cleaner is the size and shape of your pool. If you have a complex pool design, buy a robotic cleaner that can navigate tough corners. Also, if your pool has steps, choose a robotic cleaner that can go up the steps.

Online Scams Abound During Chlorine Shortage

Consumers getting scammed as chlorine shortage continues

News of the shortage on chlorine tablets has hit the mass media and prices have sky rocketed around the nation. A recent spate of price increase notices from some of the top distributors comes on the tail end of a particularly rough start to this years pool season.

Many pool companies are struggling to find essential supplies to build, repair and maintain swimming pools. Positive news like the rebuilding of the BioLab plant came too late to salvage this years shortage on dry chlorine products.

As the chlorine crunch continues, the shortage has begun to impact availability of a variety of essential chemicals including muriatic acid, according to Orenda Technologies.

Distributors are running low on virtually everything this pool season as supply chains struggle to keep up with demand.

Online Scams For Chlorine Tabs Growing in Frequency

As legitimate suppliers run out of inventory, consumers are turning to Amazon, Ebay, and a variety of online stores to try and purchase tablets. Unfortunately, a rash of online scams have popped up to capitalize on the pool supply shortages and, as a result, consumers have been getting ripped off with alarming regularity.

Trying to order chlorine tablets on Amazon produced an immediate search result where the top sponsored listings I saw are obvious scammers. The growing number of these scams is concerning. This type of activity represents a serious problem for the pool industry as well as consumers.

A quick Amazon search produced a variety of sponsored scams that mislead consumers.

One consumer was none to pleased with her online purchase of chlorine tablets, believing she had purchased a 25 pound bucket of tablets based on the exorbitant price. Instead, she says she received her Amazon order which consisted of a small container of aspirin sized chlorine tablets.

Consumers need to be aware of what they are purchasing before they buy from any online retailer, particularly on non-pool supply websites. Online retail marketplaces like Amazon and Walmart carry pool chemicals but are notoriously slow to react to online scams. Some pool scammers operate multiple accounts at a time under a variety of different brands and it can be difficult for consumers to make a distinction on whether they are legitimate or not.

Needless to say, as the chlorine shortage continues, it’s more important than ever to not only fully vette your pool builder and pool service company, but your chemical supplier as well. Although distributors may be in short supply, purchasing from a reputatable and recognized pool supplier is always the best option.
